You can currently hear him spinning at Procession on Tuesday nights, Morpheus Rising on Thursday nights, and Fun House on Fridays. Check out our club page for further details on these events.
HistoryRazorBurn founder Rik Millhouse began working under the name Rexx Arkana when he hosted the all-electronic "Twitch" radio program for eight years on two separate radio stations: WVYC (Pennsylvania, 1984-1987) and WERW (Syracuse, NY, 1987-1991). He has also performed as a guest DJ on WRHU's "Industrial Strength" program, hosted by DJ Raf, and on WFDU's "The Shape of Things To Come," hosted by The One Bob. The local popularity of "Twitch" led to Rexx's first club gigs at what were then upstate New York's largest alternative nightclubs, Suburban Park and Buggsy's, where he began his first residency, in 1987. Throughout the late '80s and early '90s, while attending Syracuse University, he supported himself through his activities as a promoter and dj, with contracted weekly gigs throughout northwest New York. Working the "loop" through Syracuse, Binghampton, Rochester, and Buffalo, with regular stops in Toronto and Montreal, Arkana was one of the original Wax Trax! DJs, quickly becoming the most recognized name on the scene by spinning the cutting edge sounds of early EBM and prototypical electro-industrial. Relocating to Brooklyn in 1994, Arkana soon became a regular in the NYC goth-industrial scene, spinning at clubs like The Bank and Batcave, while continuing his career as a promoter in the position of electronic music specialist for independent label Radical Records. He was also selected to represent New York City at the Second Annual Industrial Rave in San Francisco. In 1997, Arkana was selected by the College Music Journal weekly trade magazine to schedule and moderate their first-ever Industrial Music Panel at that year's CMJ New Music Marathon in NYC. In the spring of 2001, Arkana toured the East Coast as a manager and DJ for newcomers Icon of Coil on their first concert trip through the U.S. In April, he completed his first international mini-tour, playing three gigs in London: the underground Gossips, the ultra-exclusive Slimelight, and the world's oldest and longest-running alternative club, Electric Ballroom. Rexx served as a guest panelist on the Scene Building discussion panel at Convergence 7, North America's largest annual industrial/gothic music convention and gathering. He has had guest spots in Philadelphia with DJ Octopussy and Arkana is scheduled to appear again for the fetish-friendly Vesago party. Rexx Does Deutschland This just confirmed: Rexx will be headlining the opening festivities at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany this year.
